A Hybrid Perpetual introduced by Millet-Malet in 1860. Large violet-red flowers, well scented with good repeat flowering. A seedling of ‘Pius IX’. Photographed at Mottisfont Garden Hampshire UK. Peter Beales (1992) says that this is the very best of the Hybrid Perpetuals.
