A Tea raised by Nabonnand in 1892. The flowers are well-scented, deep pink in bud, opening coppery-red with purple shading on the outer petals. In hot dry weather the colour is paler, basically rose-pink. The petals can reflex, and overlap, giving a camellia-like bloom; one of these is illustrated in Botanica’s Roses, p. 89. Leaflets dark greyish-green. Parentage: seedling of ‘Mme Lambard’. Zone 7, will survive down to 5-0°F (–15°C). Photographed in the Adelaide hills Australia. |
