An Explorer series rose, a low shrub or ground-cover. a hybrid rugosa bred by Svejda and introduced in 1976. After failing to find a polar route to Asia in 1607 or 1608, Henry Hudson sailed the Hudson River in 1609. In 1610 he sailed through Hudson Strait into James Bay and opened a sea route to North America’s interior. After a hard winter, his crew mutinied and set him adrift, and he was never heard from again. This cultivar was obtained from open pollination of the cultivar 'Schneezwerg'.
Very hardy Zone 2, will survive down to –40°C. The photograph has been supplied by Morden Research Station, Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada, the third picture was photographed at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton. Near Toronto, Canada.
