Introduced by Hillier in 1935. A chance hybrid of Rosa canina. A good strong rose for making an impenatrable hedge. Zone 5, will survive down to –25°C. The specimens photographed were collected at the Royal Horticultural Society Garden, Wisley, Surrey, UK.
