A free flowering climber to about 4.5m. The flowers are bright deep pink sometimes with touches of white, well scented. Introduced by Feast in 1843 in the USA. Thought to be R. setigera x R.gallica but 'Modern Roses 11', think that it is a cross between R. setigera and a china, which fits well with the flower form and also the white flecks or stripes which are common amongst china hybrids. A good rather hardy plant. Zone 5, will survive down to -25C.
