In the rubiginosa group.
Low growing, up to 1m. Prickles stout, curved and often paired. Leaflets 5-7, 1-3cm long, 1-2cm wide, glandular on both surfaces. Petals 1.2-2cm long, pale pink. Hips around 1cm long, bright red, smooth. From Poland and Austria to the Ukraine and Bulgaria.
