A China rose of unknown origin. The meaning of Pu Tao Hong is purple as thick as the grape. Flowers semi-double, deep purplish red they never discolor right to the end. 2 inches (4-5cm) across, good scent; Continuous during the season. A small bush up to 3.5 feet (1m) high. The photograph has been kindly sent to us from Japan by Sala, who also advised on the text.
