An Explorer series Kordesii climbing rose, bred by Svejda and introduced in 1984. Bright red semi-double flowers. Henry Kelsey joined the Hudson’s Bay Company in 1684 and was their first inland explorer. This cultivar was obtained from a cross of R. kordesii, and a hardy seedling originating from 'Red Pinocchio', 'Joanna Hill' and R. spinosissima. Photographed at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton, near Toronto, Canada.
