A Kordesii climbing hybrid in the Canadian Explorer series introduced by Svejda in 1983. William Baffin was obtained from open pollination of a hardy seedling derived from R. kordesii and a pollen parent originating from Red Dawn and Suzanne. Height to 10 feet, continuous flowering with light fragrance. Very hardy probably Zone 2, will survive down to –40°C. William Baffin was a genius in nautical astronomy and on his last voyage in Arctic waters he reached a latitude that went unequaled for the next 236 years. Baffin Island is named for him. | ||||||
