Introduced by Vibert in 1816, and named after his wife, who had died the previous February.

Stems upright to 1m. Leaflets elliptic, finely toothed. Flowers flat, double or semi-double, the petals with irregular edges. Colour deep pink to purplish, with speckles.

This rose remained in commerce for over 50 years, and attracted the incorrect synonyms 'Duc d'Orleans' and 'Henri IV'.
