A Hybrid Perpetual introduced by Louis Lévêque & fils in 1885. Large, full, open, abundant dark red flowers, some scent, heavy summer blooming, very vigorous growth. Named for Mme la Princesse de Bearn, who loved roses and died young. This rose is a seedling of ‘Duc de Cazes’. Photographed at the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden in California by Bill Grant.
