A Gallica rose introduced by Vibert in 1843, though there was an earlier 'Agar', introduced by Laffay in the early 19th century. Stems strong, upright and very thorny, around 1m. Leaflets elliptic, large and thick. Flowers fully double, opening flat,the outer petals eventually recurved, not very large, pink with crimson in the centre. Scent rather feeble.
