Introduced by Descemet before 1815.
Stems upright to 1.5m, with few thorns. Leaflets elliptic. Flowers solitary, rarely in pairs, medium-sized, flat, fully-double and quatered with a button eye. Colour crimson in the centre, with mauve veins around the edge. Scent poor.
