Introduced before 1836. All the ancient catalogues of Vibert, van Houtte and Prevost describe this vaiety as flesh-pink or salmon-pink, but the specimen shown here, which probably came originally from L'Hay, is deep purplish-red and probably wrongly named, as Joyaux himself points out in his book.
