A Canadian hybrid rugosa shrub rose bred in London, Ontario, by Wm. Saunders in 1900 and named after his wife, Agnes. It was introduced in 1923 by the then Dominion Experimental Farm in Ottawa to honour their first Director, William Saunders. It grows to approximately 6 feet tall and has very double amber yellow flowers with a deeper centre and a fruity fragrance. It blooms profusely in June and July. Foliage is light green, glossy, wrinkled with small leaves. It is a vigorous, upright, very hardy shrub. This rose is cross between R. rugosa x R. foetida persiana.
