Stems upright to 1.2m. Leaflets small, rounded or elliptic, usually 5 but often 3. Flowers solitary, medium-sized, quartered, red with deeper shading.



Vibert considered that this was a gallica hybrid.The specimen shown originated at Mottisfont.
