Origin unknown, but first recorded in 1811.Stems arching, to 1.2m or sometimes more. Leaves greyish-green,downy with elliptic leaflets. Flowers fully double, quartered, flat, with a button eye, clear pale pink. Sepals unusually long and divided. Scent very good. The specimen photographed here originated at Mottisfont; this rose was also illustrated by Redoute in 1824. Some authorities, e.g.Brent Dickerson, consider that 'Agatha Incarnata' is a synonym of 'Blush Belgique', one of the R. x francofurtana group. |
